South Africa 19th FIFA world cup

In the year 2010 South Africa will be the host of 19th FIFA world cup and is the first time that the FIFA world cup is held in a African continent. After one round of voting, the winning bid was announced by FIFA president Sepp Blatter at a media conference on May 15 2004 in Zurich. South Africa 14 votes was awarded the rights to host the tournament, defeating Morocco having 10 votes and Egypt.

Ten venue choosen by FIFA world cup to be held in South Africa is 1) Cape Town African Renaissance Stadium, 2) Johannesburg Soccer City, 3) Durban King Senzangakhona Stadium, 4) Port Elizabeth Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, 5) Johannesburg Ellis Park Stadium, 6) Pretoria Loftus Versfeld Stadium, 7) Nelspruit Mbombela Stadium, 8) Rustenburg Royal Bafokeng Stadium, 9) Bloemfontein Free State Stadium, 10) Polokwane Peter Mokaba Stadium
